Book: Awakening Brilliance

So about an hour ago, I finished this enlightening book. Called 'Awakening Brilliance'. In all honesty I'm sure it's a guide to help teachers or educators learn new approaches to educating their students. I've had this book for YEARS. My mom has been trying to get me to read this for ages. I'm not even sure she finished it, I found her bookmark LOL. & by ages I mean... early high school & I've been out for almost 4 years now. Damn time flies. Any who...

Reading the book and interpreting things that I've learned from the book and incorporating them in my everyday life, is the best part of this read. I mean... It was meant for teachers and students to build relationships and healthy work environments, but who says you can't use that in your everyday life? I've learned more about values, and evaluations. "Everyone is unique; and once you are aware of your uniqueness; it's not likely you'll compare yourself to anyone else" Everything stated in the book made total sense. Made me think back to school. A lot of teachers, have different teaching styles, and many are hard on their students... Very few actually reach out to students & build a relationship, where students are not afraid to fail, and learn from their mistakes. To get change, you start with yourself. That information will not go unnoticed.

After reading this book, subtract the appendix... Meant for teachers, to refer to, in making change in their classrooms.

I remember my favorite teacher from high school! He was so nice, and he worked with everyone, creating relationships... Helping others with understanding, and learning. He didn't teach at us. He taught us, and in turn he learned new things from his students. Mr. Murray. =)

I'm glad I finally read this book. I'll be using it everyday. It's 2am and I want to call my mom & thank her, then maybe have her finish the book.... Then give it back lol. Anyways... Good night hunni buns.

Saturday!!

Saturday.... was planned out to be a total chill quiet day.
Had some errands to run with my Best Friend.. Then he kidnapped
me for the WHOLE day!!wtf. I mean I appreciate all the time I
spent with my God-Daughter... but DAMN. that was horrible.
It felt like high school all over again.

He's always had a habit of kidnapping me, and bringing me around
a whole bunch of different ppl. When he KNOWS I'm anti-social ; &
I definitely don't mix and mingle. Urgh! AS IF! (lol)

In all seriousness though, it got to the point where my roommate
had to come and sort of save me, but then she was pulled under
the dark cloud too. Finally I had enough, and I made my escape.

Excited for next week. This month is CRUNCH time. I am not
trying to wait until December to do Christmas shopping. & I
can't stand malls.

This entry is the LEAST thought out entry ever. I'm just
typing. I don't know if anything I'm typing even makes
sense. I am THAT tired! --- but whatever.

Ooohh more random stuff. I saw my home girl 989 today. =O
It was kinda from a distance, and she didnt see me. So
now it's kinda sounding like I was stalking her or something.
But really I wasn't I promise! lol .
I'm really just typing this, because I know she reads my blogs.
but i really did see her... shrugs

Love Vs. Career

So I've been meaning to write this post for a while now. I've been uber-busy with work and dealing with other things. So please accept my apology. One day last week I was asked a question by one of my friends. She posted the question on my wall, which was the part that caught me off guard. If you're on my facebook, then you already know that I need my wall empty, and if not.... The only thing on there are my status'/twitter updates.

Which is better? Finding true love or focusing on your grind?

(again... I'm not sure if that was the way she originally worded it, because after I replied, I deleted it off my wall =/ )

Something along those lines anyways...

So how about it... Which is better? Focusing on love, or focusing on your hustle/grind/career?

Uh, personally, I love working on me. Something I can look at in the future and say, "damn! I did this... I did it all on my own, and I did it to be where I am now". I don't think I can look at a successful relationship and have the same feelings/emotions. Relationships are important, but my career is a bit more precious. Like I told Tiff.

I think both offer a lot of pro's but cons as well. To each their own I guess!
You know me; I love love.. I love being in love, but honestly I have no time for it. & sometimes I think to myself 'like really dude. WTF! I'm freakin lonely' but at the same time. I make my money and count it & smile at the end of the night. & I'm fine. ---- I guess, that's just an evaluation everyone makes for themselves. "

Cosmetic Heaven

Okay, so I know I've been absent for a while ; but I've been doing nothing fun or out of the ordinary ; just working. Which I guess sometimes it can be fun ; but sometimes it's just a drag!!


I suppose because it's after 12am it's officially the next day! So yesterday my one of my best friends and I found ourselves in this lil store that we had ultimate cosmetic orgasms ;

We saw the store one sunday ; running by quickly ; right before the mall closed.... we were on a mission to catch another store first so we had to get to first!

Anywho ; we went into the store today and we literally went nutzo with all the selection of cosmetics they had and for so CHEAP!

& when I got home after foaming over my purchases for a little while
I went ahead and added it to to make up suitcase . & here's the final product.

Fridays Frenzy

Okay so it's Friday night, and I'm home! Surprise Surprise!!
[that's sarcasm for those who don't really know me; I''m always home!]

So first things first ; If you've never walked up 20 flights of stairs you're not a champ! I can say that, because I did that today. I used my ubertwitter application to tweet about it; as I marched up those steps, from P2 to Penthouse! As I walked up all those freakin' steps; I said to myself "fuck I gotta quit smoking!" After I was in my apartment, I flopped down on my bed ; & rested for a few minutes.... Then sparked up the famous Belmont's. I can see all you non-smokers rolling your eyes right now, but it's all good. My best friend, said some real powerful words to me; the last time I said I was going to quit. "Quitters never win". & if that ain't the truth. I don't know what is!


Next on the list. My former roommate posted a "note" on facebook. It's really insightful. Which then makes me wonder if she wrote this herself. (no pun intended) but it is what it is. Note posted below.

"Being 20 something
i think all u 20 somethings will relate to this poem.......

...Its really hard
They call it the "Quarter-Life Crisis." It is when you
stop going along with the crowd and start realizing
that there are many things about yourself that you
didn't know and may not like. You start feeling
insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or
two, but then get scared because you barely know where
you are now.

You start realizing that people are selfish and that
maybe, those friends that you thought were so close to
aren't exactly the greatest people you have ever met,
and the people you have lost touch with are some of
the most important ones. What you don't recognize is
that they are realizing that too, and aren't really
cold, catty, mean, or insincere but that they are as
confused as you.

You look at your job...and it is not even close to
what you thought you would be doing, or maybe you are
looking for a job and realizing that you are going to
have to start at the bottom and that scares you. Your
opinions have gotten stronger. You see what others are
doing and find yourself judging more than usual
because suddenly you realize that you have certain
boundaries in your life and are constantly adding
things to your list of what is acceptable and what
isn't. One minute, you are insecure and then the next,
secure.

You laugh and cry with the greatest force of your
life. You feel alone and scared and confused.
Suddenly, change is the enemy and you try and cling on
to the past with dear life, but soon realize that the
past is drifting further and further away, and there
is nothing to do but stay where you are or move
forward.

You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you
loved could do such damage to you. Or you lay in bed
and wonder why you can't meet anyone decent enough
that you want to get to know better. Or maybe you love
someone but love someone else too and cannot figure
out why you are doing this because you know that you
aren't a bad person.

One night stands and random hookups start to look
cheap. GETTIN WASTED AND ACTING LIKE AN
IDIOT STARTS TO LOOK PATHETIC. You go through the same
emotions and questions over and over, and talk with your friends
about the same topics because you cannot seem to make
a decision. You worry about loans, money, and the
future and making a life for yourself...and while
winning the race would be great, right now you'd just
like to be a contender!

What you may not realize is that everyone reading this
relates to it. We are in our best of times and worst
of times, trying as hard as we can to figure this
whole thing out. Send this to your twenty something
friends...maybe it will help them sit down for a while,
take a deep breathe and ponder for a while. "

& now after reading it over again thoroughly, I'm convinced she did not write this. Seems to be a chain letter. Hmmm if chain letters were this insightful ; I could stop marking them as spam in my inbox. =O

Fell Off?

I sit here and wonder: what happened? That questions crosses my mind every now and again. I used to talk & network a whole lot. I used to keep in contact with uber-amount of photographers, singers, and other people who were upcoming in the industry.

I'm 21 years old ; and I feel like my prime was when I was ages 17-19. I did my little model gigs' I wasn't in the best of shape ; but to a hard critic like myself, I say my body was hotter back then. I mean I know all I have to do is work on it; but jeesh! It's a lot of work!!

I am living proof that, acting brand new, and having a controlling partner is not what's poppin!! I was heavily criticized for the friends I chose, for keeping contact with people that could have helped me further my career. All my friends were apparently whores, and I was no better than them if I wanted to model, and market myself. URGH. I'm happy to have gotten rid of him ; but the one after him, wasn't much different. So are you surprised to hear me say I'm happy to have gotten rid of her too. I love those who love me for me! I may do some shit, you'd never do, but if you can still look me in my face & say you honestly care about me! I got mad love for ya.

It's kinda sad how I let my love affairs be the deciding factor in my life. I can admit it. I fell off ! I'm about to get back on though. Don't say I didn't warn ya!

It Kills Me

Not fully educated about this young lady, but I've heard this song a couple of months back on the radio. I like it, it's very soulful. Which is something we don't get often from these new Artists in the industry. I came across the official music video browsing WorldStarHipHop.com, & I thought I'd share. So enjoy.

[funny to hear me say that, because until Joe Budden had dropped Padded Rooms, then Fabolous, dropped Loso's Way, then Jay-Z dropped Blueprint 3. I hadn't bought anyone's CD since my first year of high school.] I've certainly had the most recent CD's of the artists that I liked, but I obtained all of those by downloading. I suppose, you'll pay for what you really like...

The Journey

So this is my first official post on my new blog. I've created so many by these, in the hopes of finally choosing a title or URL that I'll be content with for... something like forever. I'm finally thinking of sticking to using a portion of my government name, and adding to it. "Lee", a portion of my real name... Success, a dream.. Sorry, I meant a goal. Something I am working towards & love; a four letter word that carries so much meaning, an overwhelming emotion or expression; & there we have it LoveLeeSuccess.

This blog was created, because I have a million and one blog sites already, and I'm pretty much all over the place. I post in one on Monday; another site the Wednesday, and a totally different site on the Saturday.... I want to be able to tell myself. Hey! You created this site, you're finally content with your screen name. Now it's time to stop searching, and start building. After all that is what I had planned out for myself. So Welcome to my new and official blog site. I'll be placing my URL on all my other blog sites and calling this my official home. Yay.
